A new unified game library is rolling out to Xbox Insiders, bringing together Steam, Battle.net, and more.
Microsoft is transforming the Xbox app for Windows into a centralized hub for PC gamers by adding support for third-party platforms like Steam and Battle.net. Starting this week, Xbox Insiders can preview a new aggregated game library, allowing users to view and launch non-Microsoft titles directly from the Xbox app.
A Unified Library for PC Gamers
This update brings long-requested functionality: a single launcher that recognizes games installed from multiple sources. Whether you’ve purchased titles on Steam, Battle.net, or the Microsoft Store, the Xbox app will now automatically detect and display them in the “My Library” section, along with a convenient “Most Recent” list in the sidebar for quick access.
According to Manisha Oza, product manager for Xbox, the update is designed to streamline the PC gaming experience. “When a player installs a game from a supported PC storefront, it will automatically appear in ‘My Library’ within the Xbox PC app,” she explained. Microsoft also confirmed that support for more storefronts is on the way.

Coming Soon to More Devices
The new aggregated library is scheduled for a wider release later this year and will be integrated into upcoming devices like the ROG Ally Xbox Edition. This initiative signals Microsoft’s broader push to make Windows a more competitive gaming platform by bringing together elements of Xbox, Windows, and third-party launchers under one roof.
How to Join the Preview
PC gamers eager to test the new features can join the Xbox Insider Program by downloading the Xbox Insider Hub on their Windows PC. From there, opt into the PC Gaming Preview to access the updated Xbox app.
Users also have the flexibility to customize their library view. If you prefer not to see certain storefronts, you can manage their visibility in the Library & Extensions section within the app settings.
