You’ll need to venture through rugged terrain, descend into deep caverns, and scale towering rock formations to discover them. The Trials of Aql are a key component of the Fremen questline. Here’s where to find all eight.
1. First Trial – Mihna Cavern
Begin your journey with the First Trial by heading to Mihna Cavern, situated in the southern region of Hagga Basin. After experiencing a Spice Dream, a map marker will appear to guide you directly to the location.
2. Second Trial – The Deep Struggle
Make your way to The Deep Struggle in the eastern part of Vermillius Gap. Look for a cave opening on the right-hand side among the rocky cliffs. Once inside, descend to the bottom floor where the spice plate awaits.
3. Third Trial – The Lost Pilgrim
The third trial is located at the Cave of the Lost Pilgrim, south of the Wreck of Pallas. You’ll find it tucked inside a massive rock formation in western Vermillius Gap.
4. Fourth Trial – The Hollow Hammer
Seek out the Fourth Trial at The Hollow Hammer—a massive hammer-shaped rock formation between East and West Vermillius Gap. Climb up one of the towering stone pillars, then follow the path of stairs that lead you to the trial’s site.
5. Fifth Trial – The Hidden Test
For the Fifth Trial, explore The Hidden Test cave in Hagga Rift. To access it, you’ll need to leap into a deep pit. A suspensor device like the Emperor’s Wings is highly recommended to make the descent safer.
6. Sixth Trial – Devil’s Eye Cavern
The Sixth Trial is hidden inside Devil’s Eye Cavern, found in the Jabal Eifrit Al-Sharq region. The area is best reached using a vehicle due to the challenging terrain.
7. Seventh Trial – The Red Maw
Locate the Seventh Trial at The Red Maw in Hagga Rift. It’s positioned in the upper-right part of Hagga Basin, along the western edge of the rift.
8. Eighth Trial – Sietch Ta’lab
The final trial takes you to Sietch Ta’lab, found in the Eastern Shield Wall. This location sits just north of Western Vermillius Gap, on the northern boundary of Hagga Basin. Your are looking for a huge crack in the side of the cliffs.
